Locale
Located in the southern part of the Luberon, La Tour d'Aigues is a pleasant village on the banks of the River Eze within the Luberon regional park . Essentially an agricultural center, La Tour d'Aigues is surrounded by cultivated fields and vine fields which produce a well respected wine.
Capital of the Aigues valley, this large village can offer visitors the remains of a magnificent Renaissance château which is worth the detour. The Tour d'Aigues château will remind you of certain Renaissance château in the Loire valley or in the Ile de France, notably because it was based on their designs.
The elegant proportions of its XVI°C façade make a surprising contrast with other plainer châteaux in the area. With its theatrical decor it's easy to imagine the past splendor of this Renaissance edifice especially while you admire the still intact gateway which takes the form of a splendid triumphal arch, one of the most beautiful in Provence.
The château remains belong to the Conseil Général du Vaucluse which is responsible for their renovation. Little by little the chateau's original beauty is returning... Nowadays the cellars host an earthenware Museum with exhibits found during the restoration works and a well documented local history Exhibition Museum. Each summer the château hosts the South Luberon theater, music and dance festival .
Whilst visiting the château, you won't miss the amazing musical walk, where your footsteps will ring around the old stone walls of the château, as if by magic ... Children love it...!

Terms and Conditions
Arrival: Saturday
Minimum Stay: 1 week, please inquire for exceptions
Includes: Final cleaning and any additional maid service as described above.
Arrival of our guests at 5 PM on Saturday.
Confirming your reservation: We will send a rental agreement by fax, email or regular mail. The rental agreement will specify the rental price, the amount of security deposit and the maximum number of overnight occupants.
Initial payment: The signed rental agreement and payment of the 50% deposit using a check or bank wire transfer(preferred) must be received within 7 seven days to confirm the reservation. The second 50% is due 60 days before arrival - we will email you a reminder 75 days before your arrival.
Payment acknowledgment: Immediately upon receipt of your initial or final payment we will mail you an Acknowledgement of Payment. The Acknowledgement will note the remaining balance, if any, and when the payment is due.
Final payment The second half of the rent and any security deposit are due in our offices 60 days before the first day of your rental. We must strictly adhere to this procedure, and failure to comply could result in cancellation of the booking. Don't worry about forgetting -- we'll remind you if your payment is not received on time.
Cancellation Cancellation of a confirmed reservation is a painful event for both owner and renter. The renter cancels because of some unexpected hardship; meanwhile the owner may have turned away rental opportunities and thus lost revenue. We have a no refund cancellation policy, but usually succeed in rescheduling cancelled reservations to the Spring or Fall or booking the cancelled period to another group and refunding the party that cancelled. Failure to pay the final balance which is due 60 days before arrival may be deemed a cancellation with no refund due. Security deposits are fully refundable. Clients are strongly urged to take out Trip Cancellation Insurance with the carrier of their choice at the time of confirmation. We can send a Travel Insurance quote to US or Canadian residents for all or part of the cost of your trip. We would need the name, birth date, airline carrier, dates of travel and amount of money to be covered for each guest who would like to be insured. Please inquire for a quote.
Security Deposit: The security deposit is taken as a signed promise that we can charge your credit card for any unpaid damage or expenses incurred during your stay. It is very rare that we ever charge a card - we inform our guests before doing so. Reasonable wear and tear is not charged for, but the cost of missing or damaged items will be deducted from the deposit.
Extra Charges The rent includes taxes, standard utilities and maid service as noted above. Additional maid or other services can be arranged and are charged for separately. In cold months November through April there is an additonal 100 euro per week charge for heating cost.
