Set against the background of Les Alpilles, Provence, and nestled among groves of olive trees, rolling vineyards and seas of lavender, the village of Eygalieres is home to "La Magnanerie". This charming, fully renovated sixteenth-century home is the perfect base from which to explore this idyllic area with its rich history of a ferocious dragon, pregnant nuns and, more recently, the French Resistance.

The recently renovated, spacious interior is elegantly furnished throughout with French antiques and tasteful artworks, instilling homely comfort. The cavernous new kitchen while having been renewed and modernised, still retains the original beamed ceiling. It is professionally equipped with superb granite worktops and a double stainless steel Lacanche stove, two American-style fridge/freezers, a drinks fridge, dishwasher and microwave. The adjoining utility room houses the washing machine, dryer and a second dishwasher.
The living room is designed for comfort with its stylish white sofas, vaulted ceilings, flagstone floors and doors opening out onto the rear garden.
Seating for over twenty people and an original fireplace can be found in the dining room.
The TV room/library is entertainment heaven with its flat-screen TV, satellite and DVD, with a wide selection of English and French movies to choose from. This room is also filled to the brim with a variety of books to choose from, including informative books on touring the area. Visitors are welcome to dive amongst the pages of these books, but don’t forget to return them to the shelves for the next guests to enjoy! With its beautiful stained glass window, this room was originally a chapel.
The warm and cosy winter lounge has deep couches and a large stone fireplace.
In the games room, overlooking the pool and the Alpilles, you will find a billiard table and a stereo CD system with speakers throughout the ground floor.
La Magnanerie is a large "Maison de Maitre" meant for 12 guests, although 17 people can sleep there comfortably. The extra guests (up to five) will be charged a supplement per person, and this must be arranged in advance.

Right in the old charming, but sophisticated village of Eygalieres, a favorite hideaway for wealthy Parisians hosts a number of good restaurants including the Michelin starred "Chez Bru". Find all of the charm and amenities in the village with butcher, baker, café/ bar and weekly market. The area surrounding the village provides one of the most dramatic landscapes in Provence with the famed Alpilles (hills) adorning the view - an area made famous by the works Vincent Van Gogh.
Getting here:
The easiest way to get to Inland Provence from the US is to fly to Marseilles International Airport (MRS). If you would like to see Paris, fly to Charles de Gaulle Airport then connect directly to the TGV(high speed train) from CDG TGV2 to Avignon TGV(3 hours direct) and rent a car. You would plan to see Paris on the way back, taking the TGV from Avignon TGV to Gare de Lyon, getting a cab to your hotel in the city.

The rental includes a guardian to attend to the pool daily, as well as a cleaning lady who comes for three hours per day, five days a week.

While the rental covers accommodation for 12 guests, La Magnanerie can sleep up to 17 comfortably. The extra guests (up to five) will be charged a supplement per person, and this must be arranged in advance.
Confirming your reservation: We will send a rental agreement by fax, email or regular mail. The rental agreement will specify the rental price, the amount of security deposit and the maximum number of overnight occupants.
Initial payment: The signed rental agreement and payment of the 50% deposit using a check or bank wire transfer(preferred) must be received within 7 seven days to confirm the reservation. The second 50% is due 60 days before arrival - we will email you a reminder 75 days before your arrival.
Payment acknowledgment: Immediately upon receipt of your initial or final payment we will mail you an Acknowledgement of Payment. The Acknowledgement will note the remaining balance, if any, and when the payment is due.
Final payment The second half of the rent and any security deposit are due in our offices 60 days before the first day of your rental. We must strictly adhere to this procedure, and failure to comply could result in cancellation of the booking. Don't worry about forgetting -- we'll remind you if your payment is not received on time.
Cancellation Cancellation of a confirmed reservation is a painful event for both owner and renter. The renter cancels because of some unexpected hardship; meanwhile the owner may have turned away rental opportunities and thus lost revenue. We have a no refund cancellation policy, but usually succeed in rescheduling cancelled reservations to the Spring or Fall or booking the cancelled period to another group and refunding the party that cancelled. Failure to pay the final balance which is due 60 days before arrival may be deemed a cancellation with no refund due. Security deposits are fully refundable. Clients are strongly urged to take out Trip Cancellation Insurance with the carrier of their choice at the time of confirmation. We can send a Travel Insurance quote to US or Canadian residents for all or part of the cost of your trip. We would need the name, birth date, airline carrier, dates of travel and amount of money to be covered for each guest who would like to be insured. Please inquire for a quote.
Security Deposit: The security deposit is taken as a signed promise that we can charge your credit card for any unpaid damage or expenses incurred during your stay. It is very rare that we ever charge a card - we inform our guests before doing so. Reasonable wear and tear is not charged for, but the cost of missing or damaged items will be deducted from the deposit.
Extra Charges The rent includes taxes, standard utilities and maid service as noted above. Additional maid or other services can be arranged and are charged for separately. In cold months November through April there is an additonal 100 euro per week charge for heating cost.
