Les Pierres du Luberon
Overview
Les Pierres du Luberon, with its magnificent view, faces south across a vast and spectacular private valley, planted with truffle oaks. Seemingly miles from anywhere with its wide-open spaces, tranquility and wildlife, this lovely stone house is two minutes from the village of Buoux in the Luberon National Park and equidistant between the market town of Apt and the exquisite town of Lourmarin, with its galleries and restaurants. The surrounding countryside is very well known for rock climbing and hiking and with a fabulous old Château and an extraordinary medieval fort nearby, the area is also a painter's and photographers' delight.
Nestled on 120 acres of land with lavender fields, truffle oaks and natural bush land, Les Pierres du Luberon is close to what one sees in the picture books of Provençe. It is a delightful two story stone house with sage green shutters and its picture windows and doors frame beautiful views. Inside the house are thick stone walls, tiled floors and exposed beams of traditional Provençal architecture. Because of its position, light floods Les Pierres du Luberon from dawn to sunset. There is also a pretty pool set away from the main house and a charming summer abode with a guest room. Both buildings have marvelous views.
Spend the days hiking in the countryside and/or gathering fresh cheese, bread and other local specialties at the area's weekly outdoor markets.
The Luberon area is renowned for its summer festivals.
* Please note this house requires a 2 week minimum stay during July and August.
On the ground floor there is a vast open living room/dining room with high ceiling and a fireplace at one end and fully equipped modern kitchen at the other. Large doors lead onto a terrace, shaded by two lime trees and an arbour covered with Virginia creeper. There are expansive views of the Luberon Mountains.
The terrace is large enough to enjoy a noon gathering and a full-scale game of boules at the same time

Les Pierres du Luberon is situated on acres and acres of pristine Provençal countryside in the Luberon region. The quaint and quiet village of Buoux with 2 restaurants but no shops is very close by. The more well-known villages of Bonnieux and Lourmarin are a mere 10-15 minutes drive from the house. In these villages, and many others, you will find numerous boutiques offering local specialties plus a plethora of quaint restaurants and cafés.
The bustling town of Apt is only 20 kms away. There you experience some of the best and most varied outdoor markets Provençe has to offer plus endless boutiques, cafes and restaurants.
The region is abuzz with festivals, both music and art, throughout the summer season.
Regional summer festivities: Theater in Avignon, Opera in Aix and Orange, Jazz festival in La Roque d'Antheron and all antique fairs and flea markets. Tennis in Apt or Bonnieux, horseback riding in Apt, mountain bikes for rent in Bonnieux. In January and February, the owners of the property, who also own a truffle farm, organize special week for a truffle adventure! There is an excellent restaurant in Buoux, the Auberge de la Loube.
In one day you can enjoy a trip to the Mediterranean coast, have a swim in the sea, and sunbathing, and be back home for the dinner!

Terms and Conditions
Arrival: Saturday
Minimum Stay: 2 weeks in July and August, 1 week in other months
Includes: Final cleaning.
Confirming your reservation: We will send a rental agreement by fax, email or regular mail. The rental agreement will specify the rental price, the amount of security deposit and the maximum number of overnight occupants.
Initial payment: The signed rental agreement and payment of the 50% deposit using a check or bank wire transfer(preferred) must be received within 7 seven days to confirm the reservation. The second 50% is due 60 days before arrival - we will email you a reminder 75 days before your arrival.
Payment acknowledgment: Immediately upon receipt of your initial or final payment we will mail you an Acknowledgement of Payment. The Acknowledgement will note the remaining balance, if any, and when the payment is due.
Final payment The second half of the rent and any security deposit are due in our offices 60 days before the first day of your rental. We must strictly adhere to this procedure, and failure to comply could result in cancellation of the booking. Don't worry about forgetting -- we'll remind you if your payment is not received on time.
Cancellation Cancellation of a confirmed reservation is a painful event for both owner and renter. The renter cancels because of some unexpected hardship; meanwhile the owner may have turned away rental opportunities and thus lost revenue. We have a no refund cancellation policy, but usually succeed in rescheduling cancelled reservations to the Spring or Fall or booking the cancelled period to another group and refunding the party that cancelled. Failure to pay the final balance which is due 60 days before arrival may be deemed a cancellation with no refund due. Security deposits are fully refundable. Clients are strongly urged to take out Trip Cancellation Insurance with the carrier of their choice at the time of confirmation. We can send a Travel Insurance quote to US or Canadian residents for all or part of the cost of your trip. We would need the name, birth date, airline carrier, dates of travel and amount of money to be covered for each guest who would like to be insured. Please inquire for a quote.
Security Deposit: The security deposit is taken as a signed promise that we can charge your credit card for any unpaid damage or expenses incurred during your stay. It is very rare that we ever charge a card - we inform our guests before doing so. Reasonable wear and tear is not charged for, but the cost of missing or damaged items will be deducted from the deposit.
Extra Charges The rent includes taxes, standard utilities and maid service as noted above. Additional maid or other services can be arranged and are charged for separately. In cold months November through April there is an additonal 100 euro per week charge for heating cost.
