Monks of the Carthusian Order built the manor house in the eighteenth century. At the time of the French Revolution in 1789 the Domaine was owned by the Knights of the Order of Malta. These origins help to explain the sense of peace and grandeur the buildings extol.

Large stands of towering cypress pines adorn the extensive lawns, situated to allow magnificent views of the surrounding fields of wheat, corn, sunflowers and other commercial crops. The 23 by 50 foot swimming pool is hidden behind dense rows of 15 foot laurel bushes A large barn to the left of the manor house has been converted into a seven car garage. The guest parking area is hidden behind it.

Within fifteen minutes are the cities of Avignon and Orange with their architectural treasures and music and theater festivals. Avignon and its surrounding are known for their world-renowned Michelin-star restaurants. Within half an hour are two golf courses. Within a half to one hour's drive you will find famous sights and ancient villages to explore including the Pont du Gard, Uzès, St. Rèmy de Provence, the hill towns of the Alpilles and the Luberon, Arles, Les Baux, Aix-en-Provence and Isle-sur-la- Sorgues with its 200 antique dealers.

Getting here:
The historical city of Avignon is easily accessible. It is connected to Paris and other French cities by an airport and a TGV (high speed train which reaches Paris in two and a half hours and the Charles de Gaulle airport in two hours and forty five minutes). The international airports in Marseilles and Nimes are only one hour away. The Nice Airport is two and a half hours by car. Superhighway A7 passes five minutes east of Avignon.

Terms and Conditions

Arrival: Saturday

Minimum Stay: 1 week - please inquire about exceptions outside the summer months

Includes: Includes maid service, chef and concienrge as described above.

Confirming your reservation: We will send a rental agreement by fax, email or regular mail. The rental agreement will specify the rental price, the amount of security deposit and the maximum number of overnight occupants.

Initial payment: The signed rental agreement and payment of the 50% deposit using a check or bank wire transfer(preferred) must be received within 7 seven days to confirm the reservation. The second 50% is due 60 days before arrival - we will email you a reminder 75 days before your arrival.

Payment acknowledgment: Immediately upon receipt of your initial or final payment we will mail you an Acknowledgement of Payment. The Acknowledgement will note the remaining balance, if any, and when the payment is due.

Final payment The second half of the rent and any security deposit are due in our offices 60 days before the first day of your rental. We must strictly adhere to this procedure, and failure to comply could result in cancellation of the booking. Don't worry about forgetting -- we'll remind you if your payment is not received on time.

Cancellation Cancellation of a confirmed reservation is a painful event for both owner and renter. The renter cancels because of some unexpected hardship; meanwhile the owner may have turned away rental opportunities and thus lost revenue. We have a no refund cancellation policy, but usually succeed in rescheduling cancelled reservations to the Spring or Fall or booking the cancelled period to another group and refunding the party that cancelled. Failure to pay the final balance which is due 60 days before arrival may be deemed a cancellation with no refund due. Security deposits are fully refundable. Clients are strongly urged to take out Trip Cancellation Insurance with the carrier of their choice at the time of confirmation. We can send a Travel Insurance quote to US or Canadian residents for all or part of the cost of your trip. We would need the name, birth date, airline carrier, dates of travel and amount of money to be covered for each guest who would like to be insured. Please inquire for a quote.

Security Deposit: The security deposit is taken as a signed promise that we can charge your credit card for any unpaid damage or expenses incurred during your stay. It is very rare that we ever charge a card - we inform our guests before doing so. Reasonable wear and tear is not charged for, but the cost of missing or damaged items will be deducted from the deposit.

Extra Charges The rent includes taxes, standard utilities and maid service as noted above. Additional maid or other services can be arranged and are charged for separately. In cold months November through April there is an additonal 100 euro per week charge for heating cost.
